Professional Fees

Fees proportionate to the instruction

Fees reflect the nature, complexity, value, urgency and anticipated duration of the instruction. A written quotation is provided once sufficient information has been supplied to understand the work required.

Where the scope can be defined in advance, a fixed fee may be offered.

Where the scope is uncertain or likely to develop, work is undertaken at an agreed hourly rate.

Initial Suitability Assessment

No charge

There is no charge for an initial assessment of availability, suitability and scope. This assessment does not include substantive legal advice.

Formal Consultation

From £500

Formal consultations are available from £500, depending on duration, the volume of documents, the complexity and urgency of the issues, and whether written follow-up advice is required.

Fixed Fee Instructions

From £5,000

Fixed fee instructions generally begin from £5,000. The written quotation identifies the work included, the assumptions on which the fee is based, the anticipated timescale, any excluded work, potential third-party costs and the payment terms.

Hourly Instructions

£1,000 / hour

The standard hourly rate is £1,000. An hourly basis suits complex advisory work, ongoing litigation, document-heavy cases and urgent matters where the scope cannot be accurately predicted at the outset.

Bespoke & High-Value Instructions

Complex, urgent, international or high-value matters are quoted individually

The fee reflects the legal complexity, the significance of the interests engaged, the volume of evidence, the seniority of the forum, the number of hearings and the level of preparation required.
